If you think electronic music is all about party beats, think again! Paris-born artist Gauthier is blazing new trails for this musical genre. With his latest single, “Submission,” he invites us to explore his captivating, experimental musical universe.
Who is Gauthier?
Gauthier is a Parisian who began his career in the film industry. However, fate decided otherwise when he crossed paths with a musician passionate about electronic equipment, samplers and sequencers. As soon as he got his hands on his first machine, Gauthier fell in love with music, giving birth to his first EP, “Rave on the moon.”
This first musical step was a resounding success, supported and relayed by media such as Trax Magazine. From then on, Gauthier never stopped producing music. He began his career performing on Parisian stages and at renowned festivals such as Marvelous and Dream Nation. In 2020, he released his first vinyl, “Live in Ravolution,” and since then, projects have multiplied. One thing led to another for Gauthier, who racked up concert dates and appearances at international festivals such as Millésime Festival and Rave 4 Love in Lithuania, opening the doors to the international scene.
His musical style is based on electro and techno, but he is constantly seeking to go further. His aim is not to produce dancefloor music, but rather to create a deeper, more authentic sonic experience, imbued with emotion. He uses powerful, saturated vocals, reminiscent of the dark sounds of dark wave and cold wave.
Submission: A Decisive Musical Ambition
The track “Submission” is part of Gauthier’s ongoing quest to explore new horizons, blending electro, techno and hypnotic dark wave. With this track, Gauthier wishes to offer a more personal musical experience, reflecting his artistic evolution and his unique vision of music, without fear of upsetting conventions.
“Submission” tackles complex themes, including consent within relationships, particularly in contexts of domination. The song is both thought-provoking and a captivating aural experience.
Since October 20, “Submission” has been available on all music streaming platforms, heralding the forthcoming release of the EP “Dawn in Paris,” scheduled for November 10.
