Producer and DJ OGUZ continues to solidify his place on the international techno scene with the release of his second mixtape, DAM SQUARE DANCE TRAX LV.1. Following the success of his debut album in August and his impressive performance atADE 2024, OGUZ shows he’s ready to go even further.

Originally from the Netherlands, with Turkish roots, OGUZ immersed himself in electronic music back in 2016, when he began frequenting illegal raves in Amsterdam. These early experiences profoundly influenced his musical style, prompting him to develop an energetic, percussive sound marked by industrial groove and raw intensity. His career, which began modestly in the Amsterdam underground, has gradually propelled him to the biggest stages in Europe.
The mixtape, released on his own label 808 STUDIOSembodies a new phase of creative maturity. True to his ability to produce catchy beats, DAM SQUARE DANCE TRAX LV.1 mixes solo productions with powerful collaborations, notably with such techno luminaries as Marcel Fengler, Deborah De Luca, and 6EJOU.
Explosive Collaborations and Unique Sound Design
The project opens with ‘DAM SQUARE DANCE ANTHEM’, an explosive track with frenetic rhythms, typical of OGUZ’s sonic approach. With dominant percussion and a catchy melody, this track perfectly embodies the artist’s new musical direction. This bold, energetic sound reflects his experience as a DJ at venues such as Berlin’s famous Berghain, where he left a strong impression with his intense, uncompromising sets.
The energy doesn’t let up with ‘TOXIC VS MAD DOG’, a darker-sounding, dancefloor-oriented composition where the alternation between heavy bass and euphoric melodies creates a striking contrast.
OGUZ also reveals a more minimalist side with ‘808 STUDIO TOOL VS DANCER’, a track stripped of all decorative melody, designed to crush dance floors with relentless power. In collaboration with producer Dancer, this track is a must for DJs looking to energize their sets.
Other collaborations, such as SIMULATION LV.5 VS MAD DOG and ‘DEVIL NEVER LEAVES VS AIDA ARKO’, add ethereal texture and edgy dynamism, with complex sonorities reminiscent of the best hours of industrial techno. The album closes with ‘M3SS VS SPILO VS NOBODY94’, a track where angelic vocal samples melt into fast-paced synths.

A Star Cast for a Powerful Album
OGUZ has surrounded himself with influential artists, including Marcel Fengler, with whom he collaborates on ‘KING OF TOMORROW VS MARCEL FENGLER VS STEYA’. This track, which reinterprets Layo & Bushwacka!‘s classic Love Story, offers a revisited version of classic techno, perfectly executed for purists of the genre.
Among other notable tracks, ‘VAMPIRE EMPIRE VS 6EJOU’, featuring the talented 6EJOU, is a veritable explosion of raw energy, reminding us why OGUZ is now considered one of the key players in modern techno. The mixtape ends in style with ‘M3SS VS SPILO VS NOBODY94’, an adrenaline rush where fast-paced synthetic sounds and angelic vocal samples blend to create an intense, euphoric closing mood.
An Ascending Journey
Oguz’s talent is not limited to his productions. He is also renowned for his captivating stage performances, notably at iconic venues such as Berghain in Berlin, Printworks in London and Hï Ibiza. He has also conquered more underground scenes, such as Fuse in Brussels and Warehouse Elementenstraat in Amsterdam, venues that have played a major role in shaping his artistic identity. These performances have enabled him to gather an international community that closely follows his evolution, admiring his authentic approach to electronic music.
Oguz has also shone at renowned festivals such as Awakenings, DGTL, and theAmsterdam Dance Event (ADE), where he has demonstrated his ability to create immersive atmospheres through his sets.

808 Studios: One Label, One Vision
Launched by OGUZ himself, 808 STUDIOS is much more than just an electronic music label. It’s a platform for artistic expression for free spirits, fostering uncompromising creativity. Since its creation, the label has become a space where Oguz can fully develop his art and allow other talents to express themselves outside the conventions of the industry.
With DAM SQUARE DANCE TRAX LV.1, OGUZ once again affirms its intention to remain at the forefront of the global techno scene, while providing a platform for other artists to flourish.

Note from Gazovitch
As a DJ, OGUZ is a constant source of inspiration, not least for his relentless drive to push the boundaries of his art and his ability to innovate while remaining true to his musical identity. His impressive career path and relentless quest for perfection speak to me deeply.
Among the tracks on this mixtape, my favorite is without hesitation ‘M3SS VS SPILO VS NOBODY94’, where the Russian voice brings a unique depth, creating an atmosphere that is both intense and captivating. The featuring with 6EJOU, a producer I’ve long admired for his distinct and bold approach to techno, comes in second. Finally, ‘COMPRESS2DRUMRACK3 VS RUIZ OSC1 VS DANCER’ literally hypnotized me. This track perfectly embodies the raw, relentless energy thatOGUZ infuses into his music, a sound that makes bodies and minds vibrate on dancefloors.
